Parents and children in Bournemouth enjoyed a friendly and informal information event, hosted by Bournemouth Borough Council’s Early Years Service on Thursday 23rd September at the Sovereign Centre, to highlight the range of servies and activities that are available locally for children and their families.
At this event, parents and their families were able to gain information about the range of services and help available in the local area.
Children enjoyed terrific entertainment from Mr Merlin and Okey Dokey the Dragon in the band stand area and there was also free face painting for children.
Julian Sandy the Borough Council’s Early Years Community Engagement Officer, said: "Our Family Information Days at the Sovereign Centre in Boscombe are always extremely popular with parents and carers. There are so many services available for Bournemouth families and the Information Day is an ideal way to find out what support is out there. I would encourage anyone with children to come down to the Sovereign Centre for an informal chat on 9th December to find out how they could benefit from the huge range of services we provide, including those offered by the eight children's centres we have throughout the Borough."
Around 25 local services were at the event including: Pokesdown Children's Centre; Boscombe Children's Centre; Southbourne Children's Centre; Queens Park Children's Centre; Townsend Children's Centre; Stokewood Children's Centre; Kinson & West Howe Children's Centre; Kingsleigh Children's Centre; Butterfly Foundation; Children's Information Service; Links; YADAS; RoSPA; Childminding team; Childcare Recruitment Team; PCSOs; Fostering Team; CAB; Polish Support Group; Help & Care; Gym Buggies; Dorset Fire & Rescue and Diamond Faces.
