Women across the local area are invited to join the Council in a celebration of the achievements of women past, present and future at the Sovereign Centre, Boscombe on Thursday 10 March, 9am to 4pm.

During the day there will be a range of activities and displays on show including a photography exhibition of women across the globe over the past 100 years. There will also be opportunities to meet the Women's Institute, Women's Rotary Club and Women's Iranian Community who will explain the progress that women have made in the last century.

Children will be kept entertained with face painting and arts activities whilst the adults can find out more about Bournemouth Borough Council services including the Children's Information Service, Children's Centres, Early Years Service, Safer & Stronger Communities team, the Russell Cotes Art Gallery and Museum and the Fostering team.

Julian Sandy, Early Years Community Engagement Officer, said: "The achievements of women over the past 100 years are being celebrated all over the world, including in Bournemouth.
