The Wilkinson store, situated on Christchurch Road, in the Sovereign Shopping Centre, Boscombe, will be closed on 30th March, to undergo a makeover. The store will re-open at 9am on Thursday 31st March, with a ribbon cutting ceremony performed by John Amos, Chairman of ‘Inspieration, Friends of Boscombe Pier’ and other representatives from the committee, plus Wilkinsons’ head of retail, Simon Hathway, and store manager, David Curtis.
‘Inspieration’ has actively supported and promoted the pier and its surroundings since 2008, and will help the Wilkinson store celebrate its re-launch with a series of seaside themed activities to bring the fun of the pier to the store. The members of ‘Inspieration’ will be hosting a number of games to entertain shoppers and children alike, with each participant receiving a stick of traditional rock and entry into a prize draw to receive a meal for two at Reefside Diner on Boscombe Pier. A raffle will also be hosted to raise money for Wilkinsons’ charity of the year, Anthony Nolan, where customers can win a hamper of homewares and living products, including cushions, throws, flower seeds, gardening gloves and equipment.
The fun will continue on Saturday 2nd April when a face painter will be in store to transform children into a range of seaside creatures and characters. As an extra treat and ahead of Mother’s Day on 3rd April, all shoppers who purchase a Mother’s Day card between 8:30am and 12 noon will also be entered into a prize draw, and a bouquet of flowers will be delivered to the winner’s mum on Mothering Sunday.
