While local Police liaison officers expect the kids to enjoy the fun aspects of the day, there is a serious intent behind it. The aim is for the public to interact with the Dorset Police Safer Neighbourhood team and to gain a greater understand of the real work of a crime scene investigation. There will aslo be members of the team on hand to answer any concerns or questions that residents might have on other aspects of local policing.
Centre Manager, Ray McGlynn is keen to support the activities of the Dorset Police's Boscombe West Safer Neighbourhood Team, "It is important that the community understands and supports the important work the Police teams do keeping the public safe and we're happy to support the Safer Neighbourhood Team in their important outreach work. Plus I am really looking forward to seeing the real CSIs at work and to watching the kids enjoy the police vehicle on the Mall!"
