Visit our gorgeous 'Pride in Bournemouth' Lion
Pride in Bournemouth is an exciting public art event currently on throughout the summer of 2011. It has brought together residents, visitors, schools, artists and businesses in a fun way!
Artists, schools and communities have decorated life-sized lions, sponsored by local businesses which are situated around the town, encouraging exploration of Bournemouth and raise money for Julia’s House and the Born Free Foundation.
However, the Sovereign Centre Lion is currently being created right here in the heart of the Centre and we are giving families and kids the opportunity to enter our colouring competition when they visit the Lion and some fantastic Game vouchers are up for grabs for the top three creations.
With a silvery mane made from 4000 five pence pieces our fearsome feline will certainly make an impact; and the Centre has had the public's help in making it happen. Now we want the kids to get involved in designing their own colourful creations which will hang in the Centre in pride of place, right alongside our Lion. The competition closes on September 3rd so don't forget to drop in and have a go just like Keiran Boyte-Adams from Christchurch and Liam Carpenter from Boscombe here!
