BEAF Makers Market and Craft Workshops

7th December 2021

A new Christmas makers market opens for 10 days from the 2 December, reopening the
department store, T J Hughes within the Sovereign Shopping Centre. The store, now run as a popup
arts space, renamed B.A.D., Boscombe Arts Deport, is being transformed into a
wonderful winter’s makers market. The market is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday
from 2 – 23 December, 12pm-5pm. With over 30 local makers and artists taking part it’s a
great place to buy some original, handmade artwork.
Adding to the Christmas cheer, the organisers, BEAF, Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe
have arranged lots of Christmassy activities for everyone to join in. Each Saturday there are
free kids’ workshops kicking off at 12.30pm, where young ones can create paper lanterns,
garlands and Christmas tree decorations. Or drop in at any time and watch a wonderful
programme of animations with a special screening of Raymond Briggs’ enchanting
animation, The Snowman on Friday 17 December at 4pm. The Snowman is brought to life
with live music from musicians, The Cabinet of Living Cinema. Bookings essential for The
Snowman details at www.gotbeaf.co.uk.
